Minister of Economic Affairs: The government is “determined” to go ahead with the second phase of the targeted subsidies plan

Shamseddin Husseini said, “The government is determined to implement the second phase of the targeted subsidies plan, and it will take necessary steps to that end.” He added that the Consolidation Committee in the Majlis had decided to allocate USD 5.38 billion to the government for the implementation of the second phase of the plan and said, “We have to consider the consequences of the decision (made by the joint Majlis-government committee in the Majlis) and wait for the outcome of the Majlis session.”
