Fars News quoting Reuters reports that the Oil Minister of Sri Lanka announced that is cutting back its oil purchases from Iran by 38% and replacing this amount with purchases from other countries such as Oman and Saudi Arabia. Following this move, the country expects to be included among the countries exempt from US sanctions against Iranian oil exports. The Sri Lankan Oil Minister stressed that Sri Lanka is dependent on oil imported from other countries and is taking measures to reduce the quantity it buys from Iran.
