More than 2,000 industrial workers and employees in Qazvin Province sent a letter to the Minister of Labor, in which they protested the negative effects of the Subsidy Reform Law on their lives. They wrote that the reform is actually “the end of the subsidies,” and said that it had been detrimental to their economic security. They called on the government to raise the minimum wage to reflect the inflation rate. The workers also protested the many irregularities in they way their salaries are paid, and asked the government to establish clear, strict laws requiring employers to pay wages regularly.
