Dolat website confirmed that the First Vice President of the President received a bribe from the main defendant in the insurance case and stressed that Rahimi received money on behalf of Mohammad Reza Bahonar, Deputy Speaker of the Majlis. Other websites that discussed this matter claimed that the main defendant installed wiretaps in Rahimi’s office. In the meantime, Tehran Governor Morteza Tamaddon claimed that Minister of Higher Education and Science, Kamran Daneshjoo, received almost half a million dollars in bribes while managing President Ahmadinejad’s election campaign in 2009.
