Ahmadinejad addressed the Women and Islamic Awakening Conference in Tehran. He describedIsraelas the base of “the arrogance” and called for action against it. “Our actions must target the Zionist regime, because it is the base of the arrogance… It (Israel) is the agent of dictators’ domination over the nations of the region and the world… Nations will not be happy or honored as long as the hegemonic system and the Zionist regime prevail. They should be wiped out… The sharp point of our movement should be directed against the Zionist regime (Israel), because this regime is the power base of the arrogance and supports the hegemony of dictators… You should be aware that the hegemony of the US and the Zionist regime are on the wane, and justice will be promoted… Islamic Awakening is the main catalyst for changing world order.” Ahmadinejad added, “Behind the scenes, a corrupt group of Zionist capitalists rule over 300 million residents of the United States… The people of the United States have no freedom of choice, and the Zionists, based on their needs, decide who should become president.” Regarding the role of women in the “Awakening,” Ahmadinejad said, “In social change, the role of women is more important than that of men.” He went on to praise women by saying, “No successful change place in society is impossible without the will of women… The West is trampling upon women’s identity.”
