Javad Karimi-Qoddusi, a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said, “Although not being sent officially, Iranian pilgrims have decided to go on their own and maintain a constant presence in Syria in order to ensure that despite the threats to destroy the Shiite holy places there, the holy sites are not left empty and that the threats do not materialize.
