Rouhani: Iran’s right to enrich uranium inside Iran non-negotiable

Thursday, 3 October 2013

Iranian president Rouhani said that “we talk about details but believe that our basic nuclear rights to enrich uranium are by no means negotiable. Rouhani assured Iranians that there will be no discussions concerning the issue of nuclear technology and enrichment insideIran. As far as details are concerned, we have to sit and discuss… Tehran “has left doors of our nuclear sites open to the IAEA and they can supervise” their activities…We have nothing to hide in the field of nuclear energy…More importantly is that the Supreme Leader has said we are not after nuclear weapons. He said so not only as a Jurisprudent but as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and this is enough to ensure the world”. Rouhani added that “Since the very beginning, effective cooperation with the world has topped government agenda…over the past 45 days, the government has taken forward-looking steps in three stages: presence of foreign delegations at his (Rouhani) inauguration ceremony, his recent visit to Bishkek to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and his recent visit to New York to attend the 68th session of the UN General Assembly.
