Ahmad Tavakoli, a vocal critic of the government and head of Majlis’ strategic research center, has indicated that the fight to remove Presidential aide Saeed Mortazavi, the notorious former Tehran prosecutor, will continue, claiming the Administration Court will pursue Mortazavi’s “illegal” appointment to head the Social Security Fund. In March 2012, Ahmadinejad made him the director of the Social Security Organization, the government’s largest social welfare agency. Earlier, he appointed him to head the Task Force on Drug Trafficking. Tavakoli has also said that the Majlis may persist in the effort to impeach Minister of Labor Abdolreza Sheikholeslami (Mortazavi’s superior) this week.
