Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, spoke at the second National Conference on High-Speed Boats. He said that if the US attacks Iran, the ensuing war would be decided in naval [speedboat] battles.
If for any reason the Americans decide to attack Iran and we go to war, the fate of the war will be decided at this [naval] arena, as American capacities are based on naval force, and due to the far distance of their lands from our country, all American ground and air forces are located on their ships.
All throughout the world, Iran is the only country which has speed vessels with the ability of firing (rockets and missiles) at high speed…We now have speedboats which can launch missiles as they traverse at a speed over 60 knots…Speedboats equipped with torpedoes and electronic systems that exist nowhere in the world except in Iran… Many countries have not entered this field, and some countries like the US abandoned their attempt after a short time.
Fadavi said that Iran has several thousand high-speed vessels, 20,000 of which are used for military purposes, adding that the fate of any sea war between Iran and the US will be determined by Iran’s speedboats.
