Malaysia pulls investment in Shiraz refinery

Alireza Zeighami, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC), announced that Malaysia has reneged on its decision to participate in the initiative to develop a refinery for liquid gas in Shiraz. Malaysia holds 40% of the shares in this refinery. Several weeks ago, Petronas, a Malaysian government company, gave notice that it would stop purchasing oil from Iran in April, because of the US imposed sanctions.
