Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani, head of the Iranian judiciary, spoke about the plan to reform education social sciences and Iranian academic institutions:
The issue of the social sciences and reforming how they are studied is a matter of great importance. Therefore, any work done in that regard is complex and important. If we claim that we want to change how they are taught on the University level, we must make a serious investment, both scientifically and financially, in order to develop coordination between scientists and religious scholars. A change in this area is not something that can be done at the wave of the hand. We must not Islamify the social sciences hastily.
