Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brig-Gen Ahmad Vahidi and Commander of Islamic of Republic of Iran’s Army Navy (IRIN) Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari attended the unveiling ceremony of three landing crafts and two tugboats designed by Defense Ministry Navy’s Shahid Musavi’s Ship Building Industries. Brig-Gen Vahidi said that the body of the landing craft, which weighs 1,000 tons and is plated with maritime steel, is capable of loading, transferring and unloading fuel, water and machinery in a region without any harbor or sand shores. Regarding the tugboats, Vahidi said that the 1200 horsepower vessel can tow all types of vessels, as well as docking vessels at harbors in addition to extinguishing fires on or off shore.
