“Military personnel are the largest debtors to the banks”

In a report titled “Military personnel are the largest debtors to the banks” by Arash Matatamed: According to reports, Hojatelsalam Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri, head of the Supreme Leader’s inspectorate, sent a report to Ayatollah Khamenei in which the “Sardars” (nickname for senior military commanders) are the largest debtors in Iran’s banking system, the same Sardars referred to by Mohammad-Reza Bahonar as “the violent aristocratic class” that has already begun preparing for future presidential elections. Nateq Nouri reported that the debt owed by these Sardars, who received loans and bank relief, and who did not pay their debt, stood at 45 thousand billion Tomans. This has resulted in the banking crisis.
