Claims regarding 27% enrichment are false

Monday, 28 May 2012

Conservative news agency Fars addressed foreign reports regarding the discovery of traces of 27% enriched uranium in Fordow facilities, emphasizing the fact that this news item was published only days after the round of talks in Baghdad. According to Fars, enrichment needed to produce nuclear weapons must be enriched to 90%, which is far above even the 27%. According to Fars, Iran has frequently declared that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only and the timing of the report might be for propaganda purposes between the previous round of talks and the next round scheduled to take place in Moscow.
