Abdolreza Ghanbari prevented from submitting statement of defense

Abdolreza Ghanbari, the Iranian educator sentenced to death, was removed from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the prison authorities prevented him from sending a statement of defense to the Ministry of Education to defend his job and rights. Ghanbari, a teacher of Persian literature at a school in Pakdasht, was arrested in the election unrest and charged with terrorism. He was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Salvati. According to a statement made by his family, during his trial he was not allowed to use legal defense services.
