Executions in Iran

  • Eight prisoners who had been sentenced to death were executed at the central prison in Orumiyeh. All of them were convicted of drug-related offenses.
  • At least one person was executed at Rajai Shahr prison after seven years in jail. He was accused of drug possession. At least four other prisoners were transferred with him to solitary confinement for execution, but no information about them is available.
  • Two prisoners sentenced to death were executed at the prisons in Yasug and Gachsaran prisons.
