Oil Minister satisfied with recent 3-day official visit to Iraq

Rostam Qasemi, the Iranian Minister of Oil, described his separate talks with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Oil Minister and Vice President Hossain al-Shahrestani, as satisfactory, and said they produced agreements on expanding oil and gas trade and collaborations. Qasemi emphasized that he held productive dialogue on the export of Iranian oil products, building a gas pipeline from Iran to Iraq, providing technical training for Iraqi technicians in the field of gas and oil, as well as expanding bilateral economic ties in the energy sphere. Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Alireza Zeighami, said that Iran and Iraq have reached an agreement on expanding joint fields, refinery section and export of oil and gas oil derivatives “Iran would export over USD 1.7 million worth of oil products and Associated Petroleum Gas (APG) to Iraq per annum.”
