Fars said it had asked Morsi whether, if elected, his first state visit would be to Riyadh, to which he replied, “I didn’t say such a thing and until now my first international visits following my victory in the elections have not been determined.” Fars had maintained that Morsi spoke to one of its reporters in Cairo on Sunday (June 24), just before he was announced the winner in Egypt’s presidential election. Fars provided an audio link to the alleged recording of Morsi speaking Arabic in the interview. A Morsi aide denied Mursi gave an interview on stronger ties with Iran.
