Blogger released after repeated hunger strikes

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, the hailed blogger has finally been given furlough on bail of one billion toumans (USD 800,000) after 32 months in jail and several hunger strikes. Ronaghi Maleki was arrested after the June 2009 presidential elections and held in solitary confinement for almost 300 days. During his time in jail, he suffered from kidney problems and underwent several surgeries, but the judiciaries refused to allow him leave to continue his treatment outside the prison. Ronaghi Maleki ran a popular blog under the pseudonym Babak Khorramdin. He was arrested in December 2009.
