Ali Akbar Salehi said that the election of Mohammed Morsi to serve as the Egyptian president has opened a new chapter in Egypt’s foreign policy, adding that Egyptians took an important step by electing hime. He defines current bilateral relations with Egypt as positive in all respects. Salehi said that Iran’s Foreign Ministry hopes that the prospects of Egypt’s foreign policy will become brighter and that its new government will take “more serious measures to have more comprehensive and deeper relations with the Muslim world.” Morsi was invited to attend the NAM Summit to be held in Tehran later this year.
