Mohsen Reza’I, Secretary of the Expediency Council, said that Ahmadinejad and the government’s economic team, including, the Minister of Economic Affairs, the Minister of Oil, the Minister of Mining and Commerce, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), presented a report on Iran’s economic situation and the steps taken by government to the Expediency Council as they had been requested to do. He said that the government has so far taken some positive steps and agreed that in order to confront the West’s economic war with Iran, the cooperation of all officials and the three branches of the state is required. Mohsen Reza’i said that the report discussed the problems Western countries, especially the US and European countries, have created over the past two years for the Iranian economy. “In the past six months, those problems have been exacerbated. The explanations clearly indicated that an unjust economic war has been orchestrated against Iran and the Iranian nation. However, the report was indicative of some hope, because the government established a headquarters and has formed a respective committee to plan (counter) measures.
