Supreme Leader’s representative: Some problems in industrial sector due to failed management

Monday, 9 July 2012

At a meeting with the Head of the Organization of Industry, Mines and Trade, Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed Shabestari, the Supreme Leader’s representative in the Eastern Azerbaijan province and Imam of the Tabriz community, criticized the lack of attention given to production plants by the government while implementing the Subsidy Reform Plan and said, “I asked the President at the time what solutions he proposed for the manufacturing plants under this program, and advised that some of the income from the law should be allocated to national production. Unfortunately however, this was not done.” Shabestari said that alongside successes and achievements, it must be admitted that some of the problems in the industrial sector result from, and are related to, failed management. He claimed that the Supreme Leader himself is well aware of these problems and issues. On the subject of inflation, Shabestari said, “Those loyal to the Revolution and the families of the martyrs have appealed to me and expressed their dissatisfaction over the price increases and inflation. The market must be closely controlled and public concerns addressed.”
