Concern over jailed activist grows

The husband of jailed human rights activist Nargess Mohammadi has expressed grave concern over his wife’s health, now that she has been held incommunicado in the hospital for over 11 days. Acting President of the Campaign for Human Rights inIrancontacted her family after 12 days of no information. Concern over Mohammadi’s life increased significantly following reports of her fall in prison that resulted in serious injury and hospitalization. In a telephone call with her family, she confirmed her poor physical condition and noted that the fall caused her to lose her vision for five days. After five days in the hospital, Mohammadi was returned to Zanjan Prison.
