Oil Minister: Higher oil prices lead Iran to withdraw request for OPEC emergency conference

Rostam Ghassami announced at a press conference that in view of the rise in oil prices (now over USD100 a barrel), the emergency meeting of OPEC that Iran had asked to convene has been postponed for the time being. Ghassami also reported on the postponement of the Iranian delegation he was supposed to have headed on a visit toTurkey, for reasons which he did not specify.
