Oil Minister has ordered a group to be formed to study the consequences NIGEC’s dissolution

Iranian Minister of Oil Rostam Qasemi said, “The minister of oil has ordered a group to be formed to study the consequences of dissolution of the National Gas Export Company (NIGEC) after the approval of the decision by the board of directors of the National Oil Company.” In accordance with the decision, the National Gas Export Company is to be transformed into an international affairs department. Earlier, Ahmad Qale’bani, head of the National Oil Company’s Board of Directors, said that the NIGEC had been dissolved and that an international affairs department had been established instead. However, Gas Export Company this has not yet happened and the company is still involved in negotiations on gas exports.
