Ali Akbar Aqa’i said, “The Westerners know well that the hosting of [NAM] the summit in Tehran will improve the Islamic Republic’s status in the region and around the globe, demonstrate to the world that Iran enjoys full stability and security” and have long-term implications in Iran’s favor in international equations. He added that the presence of high-ranking officials from over 40 countries at the summit would convey the message to the West that Iran is a powerful and influential country, and that their efforts to isolate it have failed. Aqa’i described the summit as a great opportunity for Iran, and emphasized that it would play a significant role in reducing regional crises, countering the sanctions against Tehran and restoring its nuclear rights.
