Ali Mohammad Ahmadi, a member of the Majlis Planning and Budget Committee, addressed a report issued by the Statistical Center of Iran regarding the rate of inflation and said that in the past month, prices of food increased 22.8% over the same period in the previous year. He further stated that inflation of these products over the past 12 months was 35.4%. According to the same report, the cost of housing increased by 48%. According to Ahmadi, the rate of inflation regarding food and housing is not natural and had a major impact on the rise in the general rate of inflation, which according to the Central Bank reached 22.9% this month.
