Iran to create Nuclear Emergency Medical Unit in Isfahan

Acting Deputy Head of the Medical Emergency and Incidents Center of Isfahan, Hamid Esmayeeli, said that Iran plans to establish a medical unit to provide medical care in the event of nuclear emergencies. “The first nuclear emergency unit will begin operating in Isfahan in the near future… Construction of the unit is in the final stages.” Esmayeeli said that the nuclear industry is one of the province’s key industries and stressed, “Isfahan should be fully prepared to respond to (nuclear) incidents.” The Natanz uranium enrichment complex and the Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) are among Iran’s key nuclear centers located in Isfahan Province.
