“Direct talks with US against the nation’s interests”

Thursday, 3 January 2013

Hojatoleslam Abdollah Haji Sadeghi, the Supreme Leader’s Deputy Representative to the IRGC, called direct talks with US as going against the nation’s best interests. “Soft war and deviating the young from the principles and making them indifferent about Iran and (the Islamic)  system’s future are parts of the enemy’s anti-Iranian plots.” Haji Sadeghi underlined that economic sanctions are also another component of the enemy’s pressure tools. “The enemy wants the Iranian nation and government to be desperate and passive; the US aims to bring Iran to the negotiation table by proposing the direct talks and thus to declare Tehran’s defeat in confronting the Washington… Iran’s Revolution has inspired regional Islamic movements, and this concerns the dominant powers.”
