China buys about half of all oil exports from Iran

Monday, 7 January 2013

The Economist reported that since the sanctions against Iranian oil have been tightened, China alone buys about half of all the oil exported by Iran. Following the tightening of sanctions against Iran last summer, Iran sells its oil to only four countries in Asia: China, Japan, South Korea and India. The report also shows that there is no accurate information about the extent of Iran’s oil exports, but according to some Iranian sources, oil exports last year were down 50%.
