Daily gasoline consumption declined during the week ended on January 4th, mainly due to the imposition of a restriction on the use of private cars, with the aim of reducing air pollution in populated and industrial cities. During the mentioned week, average daily gasoline consumption decreased by 7.7%, hitting 55.9 million liters per day - down by 4.6 million liters against the previous week. Statistics released by National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) show that total gasoline consumption stood at 391.9 million liters, down by 33.1 million liters week on week.
