Oil Ministry Spokesman denies reports of 40% drop in Iranian oil sales

Wednesday, 9 January 2013

Alireza Nikzad Rahbar denied reports of a 40% drop in Iran’s oil sales and a 45% drop in oil and gas profits. Rahbar announced that all data that is published that is indirect, and a quote from a minister or oil industry officials is incorrect. Issues related to the oil industry will be directly delivered by the Oil Minister or his spokesman. “Figures and statistical information as well as any indirect quotes attributed to the Minister of Oil (Rostam Qasemi) and oil directors are not reliable… With the contribution of all honorable experts and the personnel in the oil (ministry)… the difficult conditions we experienced during the first days of the imposition of sanctions are over… Those who imposed the sanctions have no more excuses for exerting pressure on Iran… ”
