No room for “seditionists” in upcoming elections

Thursday, 10 January 2013

Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Judiciary, said that “sedition” elements (Iran’s term for the reformists who disputed the legitimacy of the 2009 presidential elections) will not be able to disrupt the upcoming presidential election scheduled for June 14th. “There are ways to hold and supervise healthy elections, provided that some people, such as the sedition current, do not get involved through unusual and incorrect means… If some groups really want to follow the sedition current and…to create unusual problems with the election and pressurize the Guardian Council (responsible for screening candidates) to make the system accept incompetent candidates, then this is a dream that will not come true.”
