Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi, Secretary General of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, announced that a senior economic and trade delegation from Iraq consisting of 200 delegates from the private and government sectors will soon be visiting Iran. He claimed that commercial transactions between the two countries last year amounted to USD 10.7 million, and added that in the past year Iraq had become Iran’s prime trade partner. In the first nine months of the current year, the volume of trade between the countries amounted to USD 4.6 million.
