Ahmadinejad: “If various groups try to engineer the elections, the people will engineer them”

The Iranian President responded to reporters’ questions on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting and discussed statements made regarding “the engineering of future elections.” Ahmadinejad stressed that even Imam Khomeini, the father of the Revolution, frequently claimed that he only had one vote. The Supreme Leader also has said that no one person or group can manage citizens and their votes. Based on past experience, if groups try to manage citizens and their choices, the results achieved be opposite of what they expected, and the people will manage them. These statements were made in response to statements made by Saeedi regarding the “engineering and logical design of elections” as part of the IRGC’s role.
