After approval was obtained for Abolfazl Abedini to leave prison for medical treatment for heart disease, the court stipulated high bail of 900 million tomans. Abedini, a former journalist and former head of organization responsible for human rights activists in Iran was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Prison authorities also prevented him and 14 other prisoners from attending the end of semester exams, which is against the prison’s practices.
