Ahmadinejad invited Egyptian elites, scholars, media to visit Iran; didn’t visit Tahrir Sq.

Friday, 15 February 2013

Mohammad Sheikhan, Head of the Communications, Information and Publicity Center of the  Presidential Office, said that “During his visit to Egypt, the President invited Egyptian scholars, elites, university professors and media to visit Iran… One of the most important issues addressed in all meetings with the President was establishment of the relations between Iran and Egypt at the highest level.” The Head of Iran’s Interest Section in Egypt said that the President did not visit Tahrir Square, because “no time had been allocated for the visit, since the conditions were not favorable for a visit by anyone. Tahrir is no longer a symbol of Egyptians’ solidarity, but a scene of political conflicts.”
