Former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati, who is a member of the three-strong principlist coalition planning to contest the 2013 presidential election, outlined the coalition’s policies. Velayati said that the coalition, which also consists of Majlis member Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel and Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, had established three specialized working groups. Velayati said that “If the coalition wins the upcoming election the working groups will determine the key members of the next government”. According to Velayati, Haddad-Adel is in charge of the cultural, scientific, and social working group, Qalibaf is responsible for the economic working group, and he himself heads the working group dealing with political and international affairs. Velayati also invited those who have the necessary expertise and experience to join the three working groups and announce their plans.
