Drugs are smuggled to Europe through Iran’s western borders

According to the latest figures issued by the LEF (Law Enforcement Forces) and Drug Control HQ, every day 1,369 kilograms of drug substances are recovered, and 27 cases of drug addicts and drug traffickers are filed each hour.” According to LEF, “Drugs enter the country through Iran’s eastern and sea borders, and aside from being distributed in the country are transited to Europe through Iran’s western borders.” According to the report, there are currently 1,325,000 drug addicts in Iran, and the average age of drug addicts has been announced as 21. Iran’s Forensic Medicine Organization announced that over the past Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013), 11 drug addicts died per day, and “the majority of them were young.”
