NSFPC: Attack on Larijani organized, not spontaneous

Wednesday, 3 April 2013

Deputy Head of Iran’s Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee (NSFPC), Mansour Haqiqatpour said, “In our investigations into the 22 Bahman incident (interrupting Larijani’s speech, throwing shoes and prayer stones at him), we have reached the conclusion that these measures had been organized and for a specific purpose rather than being spontaneous.” Haqiqatpour added that a report was drafted by the investigation committee during the Iranian New Year holidays and is due to be discussed in the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee meeting. He warned that revelation of the report would “impose heavy costs (on the Islamic system).” Haqiqatpour said he had had a meeting with the head of judiciary, Sadegh Larijani, but the report will only be published with the Supreme Leader’s permission.”
