NSFPC examines latest developments in Syria and Iran’s ties with Egypt and Saudi Arabia

Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee (NSFPC) Spokesman, said that the Committee examined the latest developments in Syria and Iran’s ties with Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, attended the session and said that the Western-backed Syrian rebels have resorted to creating insecurity in the country and that US officials’ visits to the region are designed to escalate tensions. Regarding Iran-Egypt relations, he said that the ties between the two countries are getting better and that extremism is a serious danger for the Egyptian revolution, the Syrian crisis and the Muslim world and is the main cause of insecurity and terrorism in Iraq, Turkey and Pakistan and noted that Iran and Egypt should jointly thwart the threat.
