Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ezhe’i, Judiciary Spokesman, said that Fa’ezeh, daughter of the former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani would “face new charges.” Fa’ezeh, was recently released from Tehran’s Evin prison after serving a six-month jail sentence. She had been charged with propaganda against the system. Mohseni-Ezhe’i said Fa’ezeh Hashemi had served her jail term and was released from prison, “however, there are other charges against her because of her conduct while in prison.” Mohseni-Eje’i added that a date for Mehdi Hashemi’s (Rafsanjani’s son) trial would be announced shortly. Hashemi is accused of financial and electoral manipulation around the disputed Presidential ballot and the protests that followed.
