Mohammadreza Esmaili, head of Iran’s dairy syndicates, said that subsidy cuts have led to a 40%-60% increase in the price of milk and a 22% fall in consumption. The Deputy Minister of Health has urged the public not to let rising prices remove milk and fruit from their diet, as this could lead to malnutrition and osteoporosis.
