Interior Ministry refuses to authorize Labor Day march

Friday, 3 May 2013

4,000 Tehran workers will celebrate Labor Day at the Mo’tamedi sports, because the Interior Ministry has refused to grant them permission to hold a march on Labor Day. The head of the Labor Week Celebration Headquarters wrote two separate letters to the political department of the Interior Ministry, but they were rejected. The last march, which was held on Labor Day in Iran, dates back to 2007. Since then, the political department of the Interior Ministry has refused to authorize marches.
