The economic crisis in Iran is affecting citizens’ accessibility to basic products. According to reports, shoes, too, are on the way out of the family shopping cart. Head of the Shoe Manufacturers and Sellers Association Hossein Zadeh Kashani, the economic crisis is affecting every sphere of life. In recent months, shoe manufacturing has plunged and it appears that this product is on the way out of the Iranian family’s shopping cart. Kashani further says that shoe imports from China and other countries have dropped but raw material is still being purchased from Turkey, Germany, Italy and China due to the cost of dollars, and this strongly affects the price of shoes. The public is showing less interest and desire to purchase this product.
