In a television interview, presidential candidate Mohammad Gharazi said that the country’s problems cannot be resolved without addressing inflation. According to Gharazi, inflation has emptied the pockets of the poor and made the rich even richer. National capital must be invested in areas that will maintain Iran’s national and economic strength. Gharazi, who served as Iran’s Oil Minister, trained in the Palestinian Fatah camps in Southern Lebanon in the 1970s.
