The funeral of Ayatollah Jalaleddin Taheri Esfehani in Isfahan turned into an forum for public protest against the regime. At a ceremony held on Tuesday, the participants chanted death to the dictator and called for the release of the reformist leaders, Karroubi and Mousavi. The late ayatollah was considered one of the opposition clerics in the Iranian regime. There are reports of detainees from Ayatollah Esfehani’s funeral, including Naim Salvati, son of Fazlullah Salvati, a political activist from Isfahan.
