Tuesday, 11 June 2013

Friday prayer leader in Tehran, Ayatollah Saeed Ahmad Khatami, said in his sermon that the scent of elections for the president and city councils is pervading Iran. The elections have one clear message and that is that citizens have control over their own fate. All elections in Iran are covered extensively by the world media, but the upcoming elections are particularly sensitive and as the Supreme Leader said, they have become international. Syria, Lebanese Hezbollah and all revolutionaries around the world are looking at these elections and their outcome. He called for heavy voter turnout and added that the establishment does not have any preferred candidate. The Supreme Leader also emphasized that he does not support any one candidate. He called on all candidates to respect the choice of the people this Friday and to congratulate the winner.
