“Absolutely no problem at Bushehr nuclear power plant”

Wednesday, 12 June 2013

At his weekly press conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sayed Abbas Araghchi mentioned the publication of a report by Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow concerning the interruption of activity at Bushehr nuclear power plant and problems detected at the plant. He clarified that either the ambassador’s statement had not been properly reported or it had been taken out of context. The Bushehr nuclear power plant is developing as planned. Before the plant operates at full power, it is necessary to conduct experiments in accordance with existing standards, to turn the reactor on and off, and to test parts and equipment every time to ensure the safety of the reactor. “We have received reports of no breakdowns or problems, and the Russian contractor’s operation of the power plant is continuing as normal, with trials being conducted.”
