Eshaq Ale-Habib, Head of Foreign Ministry’s International Political Affairs Office, said during the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Conference in Baku that there was a need to discuss “ways to support Palestine” and that Palestinian issue is still top on Iran’s foreign policy agenda. He added that Tehran has always been the pioneer in forwarding material and spiritual support to the oppressed people of Palestine. Ale-Habib reiterated that peace talks with the Zionist regime (Israel) have never been, and will never be, of any use.” He urged the OIC to redouble their efforts to “materialize the ratification of its resolution on Palestine… Meanwhile Iran is committed to its responsibilities in the framework of the Holy Qods (Jerusalem) Fund, which was ratified by the Palestine Committee of the Tehran Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit.” Among the ratifications at the Baku Foreign Ministers Conference is the issue of the need to establish the Islamic Network for Financial Support of Palestine and Rural Development of Holy Qods (Jerusalem).
